Guess this was mentioned in the original link though.

And there appears to be several DoS attacks on Linksys products...

Multiple denial of service attacks exist against various Linksys routers, causing them to need a factory reset in order to function again. Version affected: Linksys BEFSR41, BEFSR41 v3, BEFSRU31, BEFSR11, BEFSX41, BEFSR81 v2/v3, BEFW11S4 v3, BEFW11S4 v4.

Is this going to get any better? Are these companies going to get their heads out of their rears and get on track? This is one reason why I made my own WAP.

I mean what is the point of securing it when you can just login to it and reset all the settings ? It seems to be a trend to use the consumer as a test platform.

Many times network gear has a back door password that is used incase somebody forgets their password.

Sure its terrible practice, but it happens all the time.

Yes, I posted articles about this last year over in P&N. I don't post over there anymore after today so if I find such information again it will be scattered rather than smothered.

This has absolutly NOTHING to do with the issue with the Netgear or Linksys routers!
The FBI stuff has to do with ISP's and ther ability of the Fed's to be able to TAP INTO THEIR NET to capture traffic more easily, not putting back door admin pages in SOHO routers!!!!!!

Hey...the FBI can monitor my internet traffic all they want to. I dont do anything wrong on my net connection.

I go wardrive and hack into peoples access points via backdoors and use their net connections for that kinda stuff.

The "Fluke" provide the capacity to control your Router, and you would know about it.
