How much does it cost to order a 750ml bottle from Spain, or wherever the hell people usually order this stuff from? Is it really worth the price?

P.S. I am not talking about the cheap-knockoff that can be purchased at liquer stores. I'm pretty sure that the real thing can only be legally sold in Spain, Portulal and Chile.

From what I've hear and read, no it's not worth it. You'll only get drunk from it. If you wanna get high off of herbs, there are alternatives

The stuff is available at some supermarkets and off-licences (liquor stores) in the UK at about £40 per 750ml bottle.

It is absolutely hideous, and I would advise you not to waste your money. It tastes rather like Pernod (which should be readily available in other countries), except the pernod is nicer.

absinthe, ouzo, pernod, all that stuff is nasty. and yes, moonbeam, although i can't say from personal experience, it probably does taste like somebody's anus.

My sister is going to spain this summer and i am going to ask her to pick me up a bottle of absinthe. And by the way, absinthe is not only strong alcohol but it has wormwood in it which has hollucinogenic properties.

It is very high proof and tastes very strongly of anise....so it's kinda like dipping some black jellybeans in sugar, setting them on fire, and then eating them.

As for the wormwood, in all honesty there is so little of this present in real absinthe that you'd have to make a career out of drinking it for it to have any effect on you. Of course by that time your liver's shot through anyway from all the ethanol, right? Try some at a bar and see if you liike it before you invest in a bottle. Do some digging online and you'll find places to order it (hint: the URL will likely end in ".es" )
