absinthe ? in germany

ok so I've about this drink called absinthe I was wondering if it is widely available in germany and is it as crazy as people make it out to be?
 
Read up on it a bit. There are a few countries that have it legal but regulated on the wormwood (thujone) content. Canada, the UK, the Czech Rep etc... the wormwood levels are pretty low, so you're more likely to get drunk before you get high. Of course you can probably find some exceptions here and there, and probably in Germany as well.
 
The stuff in Germany is not real. Been stationed in germany for last 5 1/2 yrs. Need to head over to the Czech Republic to get it.
