yup,it's been for sale for the last couple of years now. read somewhere it was never actually banned by the government, just not sold here.

Van Gogh cut off his ear because he was ape-shit insane. The only thing absinthe will do to people is get them drunk.

unless you like the taste of anise i wouldety buy it many people dont like that taste, and it wort make you cut your ear off, it has thujone in it but the ammnt of thujone you have to consume to start tripping is somewhat insane and you wont get it out of absinthe

If you do any kind of real research on absinthe, it was banned due to wine makers (who were having bad crop seasons and low quality of wines) losing ground to it. They put out a massive PR campaign against absinthe to get it banned.

I am glad to hear absinthe is available in the states, it was next to impossible to get it in the US until now and I have wanted to try it for a while now.

Today it is known that absinthe does not cause hallucinations, especially ones similar to those described in 19th century studies. Thujone, the supposed active chemical in absinthe, is a GABA antagonist and, while it can produce muscle spasms in large doses, there is no evidence that it causes hallucinations. It has been speculated that reports of hallucinogenic effects of absinthe may have been due to poisonous chemicals being added to cheaper versions of the drink in the 19th century, to give it a more vivid colour.[43]

My buddy brought over a bottle of Lucid Absinthe over a month ago. He bought it for $80, and it has to be one of the worst tasting things I've ever had. The bottle sits in my place to this day because he didn't want to take it, and no one will drink it beyond their first shot.
