Absinth?

Anybody heard of this stuff? I heard that it's a hallucinogen from back in the Impressionistic era... and that Van Gogh was on this stuff when he cut off his ear. I also know that it's 140 proof alcohol and I heard that it's illegal in almost everywhere except a few European countries. Is that true?

It was quite popular in New Orleans in that period. Although there are rumors to the otherwise, it's officially outlawed here, too. Here'sa little history of the Old Absinthe House of New Orleans.

It can seriously mess you up. Absinthe is still legal is some countries, but outlawed as a narcotic in most.

You can buy a version here in America that is not made with wormwood. It does not contain any hallucinagens.
