Hey all,

I was looking at this model but could find no reviews for it. I like the fan design for the particular way I am going to build, hence me considering this model when I could probably go a bit cheaper and get something that might be a bit better.

I know Tagan used to have some good models out there (and still does if i am not mistaken). Can anyone shed any light on this particular model or the ITZ series in general?

The only reviews I found are on the 1300 watt model- not great reviews (well, one is not great), but I am not sure i can judge an 800 watt model by the review of a 1300 watt model.

Not sure why you're into old school, Topower built 800W PSU's. Hobby of yours?

That ABS one is discontinued. That BFG one is from two years ago.

Like i said, b/c I am interested in the fan design- back to front rather than top side.

Why? What kind of case are you putting it in where the now typical "up-draft" intake fan isn't going to be more desirable?

Just curious. Never known anyone to actually WANT an 80MM cooled PSU unless they were a PC Power & Cooling zealot. :D

Here's another BFGR800WPSU review: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com...wer-supply-review.html

I have your favorite type of case: bottom PSU mount :D It is an Antec 900. This is why I wanted the back to front airflow b/c I didn't want the fan on the PSU to conflict with the 200MM fan on the top of the case.

I have a 900 and my PSU has a top mounted fan and I don't see how it would conflict with any other fans in the case. If you get a good quality PSU, the fan would barely be running most of the time.

The placement of the fan in the PSU will not change the flow of air, it will still be pulling air from the case and exhausting out the back. A more efficient PSU will run the fan at lower rpm. A larger fan will run slower (and quieter) to move the same amount of air.

To echo what's already been said: Whether the fan is an 80MM mounted in the front of the PSU or a 120MM+ mounted on top, you're still sucking air into the PSU from inside the chassis. The big fan on top is not going to be "defeated". The air is going to escape where it needs to whether that's the top fan or the fan in the PSU.

oh ok, I was just afraid of creating "dead zones" or whatever. If that isn't the case then I wont worry about getting a PSU like the ones I was looking at. Thanks to all who responded.
