I would like to know if Zorin 32 bit will be better then xp on a p-III for kids.this pc is very old running on 1gb pc-133
it is running with xp right now. but very slow

There are over the Internet many old computer for sale that can run 5 time faster than the an Old PC as describe.

It is Not Fair to the kid to impede their games experience because for them it is educational (as oppose to most Adult gaming that might cast a very dark shadow on most uses).

I'd be more inclined to use a "typical" distro rather than a Windows imitator. Using something that looks like Windows, but doesn't act like Windows can lead to confusion. By using something that's noticeably different, it drives th point home that it isn't Windows, and some things will have to be done differently.

To answer your question though, GNU/Linux should work fine on that machine.

I know.i am starting a new built for thems.but for the moment they are driving me nuts...so i will try zorin for now and see. i thank you all for your advise
