About vehicle title transfer issue.. need some help

Hi, like 2 days ago I bought a car and the seller had me signed and put my info on the pink slip. However, now I am thinking of selling it to someone else. I have not registered the car yet. Is there something I can do so that I can transfer the car from someone else? Like a bill of sale form or soemthing since I signed the pinkslip already.. and I remember that DMV said I cannot make any chance on the stuff I put on the pinkslip...

Don't know about your state but in Iowa you must transfer it into your name and then sell it to them.

call DMV. that's the best way to do it.

to expound on my answer: in my mind, it would only make sense that the transfer must be completed before you transfer again, meaning you would have to register the car. it looks shady if you are going from one person and then straight onto another even though your information is on the pink slip.

The reason why I do not want to transfer it to my name first is that if I do it, I will have to pay the tax and smog it again for the next buyer. And since the car does not run quite right and need some repair, in the current state it's pretty difficult for it to pass smog, but the previous owner did it..
