is there other place to find people to play UT3 online besides de internal game multiplayer lobby... because i notice little people there....

Visit prounreal.com, beyondunreal.com, the official forums, etc. You'll find players in all of those places. UT has a fairly mature fanbase that still hovers around in IRC a lot, so try that as well. Lastly, get Steam and join any number of the UT3 groups on there. There are hundreds of members in those groups, and you can chat with them instantly to get a quick pick-up game going.

i dont get it... the game lobby is kinda empty because everyone is around those places.. like the steam lobby???

They're not all sitting around waiting to play a game, but they're active in those communities. So if you're looking for a quick game and can't find one online, that's where you go to look.

oh.... is a bit strange that the game lobby is empty.... is like no one is playing.. and all i see is modder teams complaining about the dificulty of getting coders and such... because no one plays it lol... wow.. UT3 is going down... how can this be????

Pretty much this. It was not well received initially and then poorly supported, and people moved on. There may be a small boon to player populations with some patch, but it will be small and possibly short lived, most likely.

IRC is probably the best way... expect the competition to be pretty decent, too.

wondering why... is like UT something insanely popular in FPS... die quick in this version the 3... lol...

if you want to pop in for random quick games with strangers, try the weekend

it's low population of players, I loved 2004, but moderately enjoyed UT3. hate the damn green goo spam!!! I'll still randomly play it though.

many people have this game on their system, it's just skipped over for more popular games, so maybe you can get a group going here

Pelu, those numbers are the server, join that server by entering those numbers

Check here for the new upcoming patch. And you will see some of the Screen shots of the new patch in beta I posted.

Those are ip addresses to DM servers that are 9x out of 10 busy after 3pm EST till 12am.

There are UT3 PUG match channels where people sign up to play a match and two people become team captains and draft the other players (like in gym class). Then they use Teamspeak for voice comm and join a passworded server to play a best of three maps match.

SERVER: irc.GameRadius.net
CHANNELS: #ut3pugs #ut3ctfpug(s)

You need an IRC client. I like Pidgin. Once you have a client installed, enter the information given above, and you should be good to go. You're on your own at that point. I've ever arranged games through IRC.

IRC is usually for the more hardcore crowd and clans usually have their own channels where members hang out discussing ladder matches. I wouldn't really recommend it as a match-making tool unless you are a pretty experienced player either in a clan, looking to join a clan, or looking to practice against good players. If you're the latter, then many clans will let you join their servers when they aren't having scheduled events - when a clan match starts they'll simply reboot the server with a private pw.

All that being said, I don't really know of any good ladders for UT3. We'll see if getting added to steam and the big update patch changes this, but right now it's been largely ignored.
