I am looking to buy a KVM switch and most that I see are advertised as PS2. I have seen a few more expensive that advertise usb connections. My question is, can I just use an adapter for the one usb mouse that i need to connect or do i need the usb model of the KVM ?

I have the 2 port Belkin SOHO series USB/PS2/Audio version, and it's strange. It supports PS2 connections all around but only supports USB connections from the KVM to the computers (so no USB keyboard/mice). The funny thing is that my logitech keyboard set is a USB end with a PS2 adapter and it works fine (well, I don't think the special function buttons work, but everythign basic works). So, I can tell you it works for the belkin SOHO that way, but for others, I'm not sure.

I have an IOGEAR 2 port and I have a usb mouse and keyboard.

I have no problems using the ps2/usb adapters for both.

You should be fine with a ps2 version, just make sure you get a good brand kvm
