About tonight's global earthquake...

This morning I can't sleep thinking about what natural event can cause an earthquake that can significantly affect the entire planet. I think the only answer is an asteroid impact, but my question is: what is the smallest asteroid size that can cause a global earthquake? There are lots of variables but i'm sure there is a lower limit in the size of such asteroid..

a rogue planet passing nearby would probably cause global earthquakes from tidal stress. It would probably knock the earth out of its orbit if it passed close enough and was large enough.

A very rapid change in the temperature of the earth's core might do it.

But I'm not sure what could or would cause a rapid change like that in the core.
