I am just about to start it. Installed 2.3GB. I'll have to get used to the damn isometric point of view. That looks so much like that puke of all RPGs, the Ultima series. I prefer the First Person perspective of Might & Magic.

Anyway, I just intend to learn the ropes until my new mobo arrives and I format. I'll definitely save that character though. Four 18s is quite nice.

Q: What OS's are supported?
A: Win95/98 are officially supported. There are no known issues running BG2 on WinME, Win2K,and Windows NT, however these are officially unsupported.

BGII is a great game...right now I'm foaming at the mouth waiting for Neverwinter Nights to come out.

I like BG2 as wel.. and you'll probably want to play the game again with a male character on the second try.
Only thing I don't like the game engine is the caching management...
what's the point establish a caching system if ALL data were on HD anyway? and it actually takes time to fill the cache, and cleaning the cache after you exist the game..

I'm waiting for Neverwinter Night as well..

You can run it all the way up to 1600x1200 and I ran it in 2000 and it worked ok though the screen formatting was a bit off. I had a 2 inch gap on the right hand of the screen in the game but not in windows. If you have a roomate that also likes this kinda game you can play co-op and that makes it a lot more fun.

BTW you can play evil

wow, she's TANKED! Just be sure to give her a decent weapon, strength enhancing girdle (or the crom fayre), and the cloak of reflection. Once she gets to level 20 or so, your thac0 and resistances to magic will be so good that most battles will be cake.

Considering the fact that I like to just walk around and socialize during RPGs, never in a hurry to finish the game, I may indeed lose a few months on that one.

Of course, I also want to see Wombat rip a kobold in half with her bare hands.

Bwahahaha! Right now I'm just having fun until I get my new mobo and format my C partition. I am still in the first dungeon. Wombat hasn't gained a level yet, still at 7. She's using a simple +1 bastard sword but I let her do all the fighting. Her AC is -3. The other three just stay at the back and cast some protective spells on her (except Minsk who just looks bored) while she's acting like a half-elf Cuisinart. She just dispatched a demon named Cambion in real time all by herself. Took less than a minute and she lost only 1/4 of her 73 HP.

I have a Herc GF2 GTS Pro w/ the 6.50 drivers, and if I select 3d acceleration I cannot see the RBG patern. I can run 1600x1200 32bit though.....Any ideas?

Dude, get Minsc in there, some of the things he says kills me, especialy when he is the leader.
