I'm a big movie buff and I've been trying to watch old classics that I never got to see. It came to my mind one day that everyone knows Godfather but I still haven't seen it, so I'm gonna go to the vid store and rent it now...

how about Bronx Tale? Someone strongly recommended that to me as well...

Here are some of the must-watch masterpiece in my opinion: (random order)
Forest Gump
Shawshank Redemption
T2 (read below)
Matrix 1. (screw those sequels)
Braveheart
The Rock
Beautiful Mind
Gladiator
Lion King
American History X
Requiem for a Dream
Office Space (yes!)

and many more I can't think of..

[edit]
Should I might as well rent Godfather 2 and 3 as well? There IS 3 right?

Wow, good taste in movies! :D

Godfather is a must-see classic. A Bronx Tale is excellent as well. If you like those, check out Goodfellas and Casino as well.

how are the 2nd and 3rd installments then?

I saw Casino when I was like 14. Only scene I remember from that movie was when Joe Pesci (or was it Al Pacino) locks a guy's head onto a clamp and starts crush his head slowly.

T2 is not on your list? what's wrong with you.. a classic blend of heart throbbing drama (kid's love for the terminator etc..) and action (need I say more?)

That's a list of movies that I think suck with the 2 movies I think should be added to his list of recommended movies.

Sure I do. I own nearly 200 DVDs...

Yet you're bagging on the Godfather movies, among other great movies. I can't imagine what your movie collection looks like. :Q

OK, I'll give you props for liking Family Guy, Office Space and UHF among others. :D

I've got something like 230 DVD/VHS movies myself at last count, but I don't have the list handy.

You liked T2 better than Braveheart? They're not really comparable. I love T2 and Braveheart, but Braveheart is in a different realm than T2. If you said you liked the first Terminator better than T2, that would be more understandable...

Godfather 2 is at least as good as the first one. Many people didn't like 3 but I thought it was pretty good, even though it was kinda different.

The Godfather part II is even better than the first one. Both are unbelievable.

Good list, though I don't see the need for Gladiator with Braveheart on there. Braveheart is better in every way.

btw, GFather III is good, just doesn't compare to the first two.
