Howdy All,

Looks like my hardrive just crashed. Hopefully it is recoverable with a reformat.

While I am reformating, what is the best order to get a clean installation for my new FIC Radeon 9700? I am using WindowsXP.

Install order:

WindowsXP
ServicePack1
Motherboard drivers
Cat3.2
ATI control panel

Is what I have listed above the best way to get a proper installation?

Thanks for your your help :)

My system:
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
AMD Athlon XP 2400++
512 MB PC2100
FIC Radeon 9700 Pro

in general, i would say to install winxp, then SP1, and all the hotfixes/update on windows update... then move on to machine specific drivers. i've never had a problem doing it that way in years and years

there is a comprehensive installation guide at rage3d.

i followed it step by step by step and still had problems :)

ati drivers have something against me for being a nVidiot for so long.
