About to recharge my Explorer's A/C

So my A/C isn't as cool as it once was, and I'm looking to DIY it, and from what I've read it sounds pretty simple, and this video kind of confirms it.

Is there anything above and beyond what's in the video that I should look for? It's essentially sticking the pipe from the device into the L portion of the A/C and doing it until it's full?

I haven't watched the video (can't at the moment either), but get a can of refrigerant with a gauge on it so you know when it's full or if you're overfilling. The attachment will only connect to the proper nipple, so you shouldn't have to worry about connecting to the wrong side (can't remember if you're supposed to stay away from the high pressure or the low pressure). If you find that you're back in the same situation in a couple of days, weeks, months, you probably have a leak and need to replace either the appropriate o-rings, lines, or unit.

Yea, that's really the half ass way of doing it. I didn't like him rocking the can while charging. You could get a slug of liquid in there. If you don't want to invest in a set of gauges, that way should be good enough.

Since your only hooked into the low side with those kits, charging liquid really wont matter.
