Got the board all ready, just have to back up some info 1st...

So, its:

-WinXP, with 29160 drivers during set-up (is there a way to disable ACPI? should I disable it? I remember the stately Insane3d recommended to me that I should disable it in win2k... Would this also apply to XP? And if so, how? I can't recall for the life of me, I know it is a f key, just not sure which one). I'm not going to install the Highpoint drivers, I won't be using RAID.

Once XP is installed

-INF driver. Can someone direct me to the latest INF drivers? The Intel site has them listed, but doesn't list the 845g, only the 845. Are they one and the same?
-Should I install the accelerator also, even if I don't plan on using an IDE HDD?
-Direct X
-Latest Detonators
-Santa Cruz drivers
-Onboard LAN drivers
-OS updates.

Am I missing anything? Sorry if this sounds routine or anything, just been using AMD/VIA for so long I don't know anything else other then 4-in-1s ;) I tried checking the "4g4a+ promising" thread, but I didn't see any formally agreed upon process.

Also, the 4:5 is available if I take the jumper off the FSB pins correct? Is this going to boot my CPU at 100 or 133 FSB?

Thanks.

edit: oh, which BIOS is the best? The one that shipped with the board? I only see 1 other available at the epox usa site.

I'm no expert, but you can get the answers reading :
http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=29&threadid=790932&STARTPAGE=1

I hate noone helping with my basic questions so I thought I'd give you a reply, save you some time.

cpu jumper (JP1) bridged results in 3:4 memory divider, 100MHz. Unbridged it's 4:5 at 133.

For winxp you don't need intel chipset driver, see
http://support.intel.com/support/chipsets/inf/
.. where it includes mention of 845g

Read the FAQ's there, I got the impression you need not apply the ide , chipset or any other intel driver if you use winXP.

From what I have read in that thread, I also think that XP has those native drivers and that Windows update is the best source for updating them if needed.

I've got the 4g4a, and installed in this order:

WinXP
chipset/inf driver from CD that came w/mobo
Installed drivers for the rest of system (video, sound, etc)

Works fine. There's no need whatsoever to disable ACPI. There's so much misinformation in regards to ACPI/irq sharing going around, it's not even funny.
