Hi guys.

Spent the last couple of weeks looking for a new keyboard (mechanical) and headset(probably wired, must have mic). I am currently using a Roccat mouse and really like it so I was considering sticking with them for both purchases but I am heavily leaning towards the corsair K95 RGB keyboard and Roccat Kave XTD 5.1 digital premium headset.

I owned a K90 when they came out but managed to damage the cable where it entered the back of the keyboard when I was moving house, man I loved that keyboard... it just felt so well put together and looked awesome.

My main problem is whichever product I look at there are 100s of positive and negative reviews.

Anyone have any first hand experience with either product or want to throw another suggestion into the mix. Going up to the shop I buy all my components from on friday so you have 24 hours to enlighten me :D.

thanks in advance

I have had a Logitech G710+ for maybe a year now. Absolutely zero issues. Great to game with, great to type on. Keys for macros and profiles that you don't ever have to use. You don't even need the Logitech software. Every key is backlit, you can choose three different brightness levels, and you can choose to light the whole keyboard, or just WASD/arrows. Game mode button to disable the Windows key (so you don't press it and minimize your game accidentally). Build quality is great in my opinion, feels heavy (in a good way) and solid. 10/10 would buy again.

Thanks for the reply, I looked at the G710(I think I have looked at all mechanical keyboards lol). It looks like a nice board but I would still pick the K95 RGB over it, just personal preference.

The shop should have display models out when I go tomorrow though so I will have a look at it "in the flesh" and see if it changes my mind.

I ended up getting the K70 RGB, I like the look of the bigger boards (K95 etc) but I really don't need the macro keys.

I used the money I saved to part pay for a new Razer deathadder left handed even though I said I wouldn't be putting any money their way after I had 2 keyboards and a mouse go faulty under warranty. I still won't be buying their keyboards but the last mouse of theirs I had nearly made it to a year before the left button started to fail which mean't it lasted several million clicks ( i use my pc a lot)

Picked up the Roccat KAVE XTD 5.1 Digital premium headset and I absolutely love it, you get a desktop remote that controls all your volumes including your desktop 5.1 speakers so you can switch between headset and speakers at the touch of a button. It also connects via bluetooth to my phone which is crystal clear on my end and for whoever I am talking to. Real quality piece of kit!

Would reccomend all 3 items with a slight warning that in my experience Razer gear isn't the most robust on the market even though it is very comfortable.

Been having a little fun with the keyboard, you can set it to flash in rainbow colours every time you press a key which looks cool but can be a bit distracting. I have it set up like this at the moment but will probably change it to something a little more understated once the novelty wears off lol....

Note I don't have a 5.1 speaker system plugged into the desktop remote yet, have ordered a new set of speakers and will be giving the wife the 2.1 system I am using at the moment as it isn't really compatible.
