About to pull the trigger on another scooter. Tell me what I should know.

Or . . YOU could make a worthwhile research effort!
Aprilia Forum
Modern Vespa Forum

I've read all those, I'm also posting on this board for specific thoughts from general motorcycle enthusiasts. They are not mutually exclusive.

My internet search history is filled with "aprilia 250cc scooter review" and "genuine blur review". I just happen to like the back and forth with other ATG members.

I don't know dirt about scooters, but I like them. They look cool, they look like a bucket of fun to ride, I want one. The only reason I don't buy one is I don't have time to ride the scooter (V-Rod) I own now.
Good luck man, I hope you get what you need and have a blast with it.

Looks like a great bike. Do you have a dealer nearby to service it? I doubt they require much but being Italian you might have some issues with it that require specific knowledge that a dealer would have.

Just looked into it, there are dealers close enough (one in Sherman Oaks, one in Irvine). The internet voiced the same concerns - lack of Aprilia dealerships for certified work.

I was looking at the Aprilia Shiver 750 a few years ago. They had a dealership that was only a few miles from my house but they folded.

Honestly, the bike made zero sense for me to buy as I owned a well sorted SV650 at the time which is just as fast so I couldn't see any reason to get rid of that and buy a bike that wasn't any faster, has little aftermarket support, spotty dealer support and cost twice as much.

It is a sexy machine though.

Yeah for my situation, it's basically a Vespa for a few thousand less.

The last line is the rub Jules. You buy a bike because it gives you a stupid grin, if a different bike gives you an even stupider grin, that's the bike you need.

That's precisely why I own a Ducati.

If I were smart I would have kept the SV650... but I'm not. 😉
