OP gets defensive

Anyone who didn't see this coming, please raise your hand and excuse yourself from the room.

I fully expected it. I'm not being defensive. I'm not allowing people to be jerkoffs just because this is ATOT. This happens in 3/4s of the threads here. The holier-than-thou crowd (of which waggy is a charter member) come flying into a thread and setup shop. Anything the OP says is wrong or whining, if they try to defend themselves that's even worse. It doesn't work on me because I've been around longer than most of them, and I know how this forum is.

It wasn't that I said don't bitch at me -- it was that I tried to give people fair warning that I wouldn't put up with the typical ATOT trash. If you don't understand or sympathize with my post then that's fine. The piling on of "durr, durr, you should have bought it" after I already mentioned that in the OP is childish. Most threads turn out this way on AT. Someone can say: "Hey, my gas stove flamed up really quick when I lit it, and it singed my armhair." At least 10 posts will berate the OP for not having an electric stove. A rebel faction of even larger morons will berate the for not wearing safety gloves and an apron or for standing too close the stove. The OP can be a professional chef -- and the posters a bunch of 15 year old WOW players -- and they will claim moral and numerical superiority.

Why? Because everyone on AT is perfect and makes perfect decision at the exactly right time. They all have plenty of money, so 20k is like one day of work to them. They not only would have anticipated the exact date of construction, but they would have lowballed the developer, banged his wife, cured cancer, and imported rare teak trees to plant on the property.

Honestly, does anyone on AT have a soul anymore, or can admit they are not perfect? Lots of you might not care because you are not a homeowner or have sociopathic tendencies, but the rest of you have fallen into the ATOT cult of attack every OP -- no matter if they admit they KNOW they could have fixed the situation in the OP.

Sad, really sad. Some of you need to stop posting 30+ times a day and go interact with folks in the real world.

huh...any time i ever made a post complaining about how ATOT is, i got flamed for it.

Good neighbors are great. we have some (well not really neighjbors i dont have any true neighbors) that are diaganolly across the street. they are some of the nicest people i have had the pleasure meeting.

one one side we have a USPO. but since its a country post office there are maybe 20 people that stop in a day. on the other side is a empty house that has been for sale for almost 4 years now (they are asking $220 for a house that is worth maybe 160) and a church across the street. behind us is a corn field and trees! heh

just wait until hte people move in and they are annoying. then we'll have to read another post about this.

yes i am afraid of that. if some do move in i plan on putting up a nice fence.

If someone bad moves in will ruin the town (heh 20 houses! not much of a town). right now its great. I have a bad back, hip etc. i have a hard time shoveling the snow or useing the thrower. 2 guys with large rideing mowers with blower attachments will come buy and do me out if have not done it myself. Also if the lawn is a little high they will mowe it for me.

of course if they have computer problems i am more then happy to fix them. also i have a huge BBQ at least once a year and invite everyone i know in town.

bummer. but you knew that this could happen. If you wanted to feel more "urban" you should have found a better lot. there was always the posiblity tha the lot could be sold. you really don't have cause to bitch about it now.

sure it sucks. but you have nobody to blame but yourself.

I think people who don't read the OP don't deserve to post on AT, but that's just me. Sure it sucks, but you have nobody to blame but yourself.

and i think people that whine over stuff they have control over need to grow up. but hey thats just me.

I have control? How? I did not know they were clearing until I walked out of my house and saw the machinery. Are you trying to say I had control 3 years ago when he tried to sell me the land for 5-8k more than what nice lots were going for? Oh, ok then.

I think people who cannot write at a 6th grade level shouldn't say anything about control. If you had control you'd pick up a book and learn how to write. But, hey, that's just me. :)

You had control by purchasing the lot and preventing the potential sale and clearing.

Ryan, can you not understand that I don't care what you think? You have zero real experience in life.

Fine, zero experience in real life.

I'm still right, you fail.

No, I didn't fail. I didn't punch a girl in the face, nor do I derive my rights in life from my parents. Nor am I an arrogant 20 year old Canuck that thinks he knows everything about politics, economics, and the world. Listen, you live at home and have never made an honest dime in your life. Do you not understand that I don't care what you say from your ivory tower? I find it humorous that you even care. Since you are the wealthy industrialist and all, shouldn't you be out expanding the family business? Oh, that's right, they didn't like you muddling in it and made you borrow money from your extended family to stay afloat. Ouch.

Jeeze that post is full of holes.

A) Not 20
B) Haven't lived at home in 3 years
C) I might come from an Ivory tower, but it doesn't make me any less right about this situation.
D) Where did I say they don't like me muddling in my family business? My dad is selling the land to walmart for a whopping 21 million, it won't be around for me to get involved in.
E) I'm in school for another 4 years (atleast) for my second degree.

Stop distracting this from you're an idiot.

I'm not taking anything out of context. You are a horribly spoiled and whiny brat who has no business telling an adult what you did. In fact, in one of those threads, you commented "I fail to see how I am spoiled." I wish I could find the rest you posted. That's not the first time you've freaked out on your mother, and I remember you losing some money in a bank account or something and whining about that for months. A vast majority of the situations were due to your own doing. I cannot fathom how you can be such a moron to think that you can judge another person when you cannot even realize your own flaws.

I said from the very outside I should or could have purchased the land. I've never denied that fact. So, why is that what some of you folks keep yelling and screaming about? I guess you must be bored or illiterate. I've never expressed that I had any right to that property. Just that was I worried about problems it will cause with draining, privacy, noise, etc. Those are not immature or silly concerns. I'd imagine 99% of the homeowners here (not in the ATOT pile-on group) would be concerned about the same things. Did I say I was going to obstruct them? Yell at them? Or do anything unethical or illegal? NO. I simply said I would monitor it and that it really sucks.

Why does no one on ATOT have humanity or compassion? I guess they must be like you -- rotten down to your greedy little core.

hmm.

bummer. but you knew that this could happen.

That's the spirit lad! It took you 12 posts, but you finally managed to work in one of those "my family has a lot of money" references. You've completed your task. Bravo. Good luck in life, son. You are going to need it.

You baited me, you got it.

Seriously, anyone, even such a stupid ignorant lad like myself, by your own words none the less, can figure this out, but you can't.

Anyone else see an irony in this?

Edit: I'm still waiting for the 'Sorry, I'm wrong half of my comments were totally false.'

I'm wrong?

*Whine* my landlord sucks because he didn't fix my oven in 24 hours.

My family is rich

15k pane of glass. Typical overreaching bragging and idiocy.

*Whine* US Customs wouldn't let me break the rules, so I play the race card

The faculty is in a conspiracy not to deliver my mail so I can get accepted into a better program

My mom is a brain dead SOB because she won't hire a maid to clean my room when I'm home from college (2006), so that not only proves you are a spoiled douche, but also that you are lying about not living at home.

My ex-girlfriend has cancer. HAHAHA that is so funny AHHAHA.

Need I go on? Not only do you have zero credibility to comment, but you are a bigger hypocrite and whiner on this forum than anyone else.

So not only do you want to change the titles.. you're generally wrong.. and taking things out of context.

Though some of those threads are generally terrible on my part.

I live at home for 3 months of the year.

I'm not taking anything out of context. You are a horribly spoiled and whiny brat who has no business telling an adult what you did. In fact, in one of those threads, you commented "I fail to see how I am spoiled." I wish I could find the rest you posted. You're greedy, you want your privacy at the expense of a company's profit and obligation to its shareholders, their doing their job.

Don't shove a dildo in your butt because things don't go your way.

honestly don't care about the bashing, I'll stop.

it's another 'i'm an idiot so lets try and turn this thread into another RyanSengara is an idiot thread to detract from my own blatant stupidity'.

I'm done.. just gonna kick back and watch now.

I do? Where did I say I was entitled to anything or wanted the developer in inoccur any expense on my behalf?

Finally, shareholders? GFTO out of my thread if you are that stupid. I doubt this man with his 6 man crew has any shareholders. I see you have no concept of life outside a large city.

Pfft guy you're laughable, every company has shareholders, even if it's just one.

You seem to think you're entitled to your privacy, thats where you come off as wanting to incur expense. The expense is not wanting these people to sell the property they paid for.

I sent work along yesterday with one of his workers to ask if he would consider that. As I mentioned in the OP, I'm not entirely sure he has a buyer. He may just be building it and hoping it sells. Perhaps he'd take a guaranteed and hassle free profit. My neighbors and I talked about purchasing it together, but we don't see how that could work. If one of us moves/dies/gets sick/whatever there's a lot you have do, and someone would have to buy out the other's share or equity.

You silly ass. I already made plans with a friend to go to the cemetery tonight. I also just ordered a bunch of arrowheads from online. Now I am trying to decide whether or not to create a fake funeral pyre.

it would take more then some bones and arrowheads. At least around here.

farmers plow up arrowheads and such all the time. granted a lot of bones would be a problem.

You're laughable for trying to assume anything about small time homebuilders in Alabama. Most of them aren't even registered with the State. A lot of them just do this in their spare time, or if they have a little land that their family once owned. Seriously, stop already.

That sucks dude. I have no one besides my house and have made no secret to anyone that the minute someone builds there, I am putting up my for sale sign. Luckily, it is a sh*tty small piece of land that will likely never be developed.
