about to leave to give blood, should i eat before i go?

had a light breakfast and light lunch about 4 hours ago. should i eat something before i go? this is my first time to give btw (turned old enough short time ago), also, is it a good idea to excersise before or after giving

It's a good idea to eat some chips and like a fruit drink or Gatorade.

Don't need your blood sugar crashing.

You should eat something before you give blood, but since you just ate lunch I'm sure that's already enough. And you'll be told to not perform any strenuous activity for 12 hours after donating. Other than that, there's not much else to worry about.

Eat a decent amount, and yes, do drink something. First time I gave blood, I was losing weight for a wrestling match, I donated and promptly passed out.

thnx, had some french fries per your advice, did not pass out, but gee it does make you tired as all get out
