<FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #c0c0c0">I've been wanting to install linux ( redhat version 7.1)on my older pc and i downloaded the iso discs from the ftp sites. I've been reading the redhat documentation about installing linux but i still wasn't sure about the following.I still have win98 on my old pc which has 3.2gb hd partitioned into a c and d drive, and by the way my old pc will become a linux box and i will get rid of win98. The question was..should i format the c and d drive from the dos prompt or should i do low level format and start afresh? What would be the easiest way to get rid of win98 to make way for linux??

Just boot with the Linux CD and delete the windows partitions when you're asked
for partitions...

Its that simple, delete them and create the necessay linux partitions, you'll need
at least a Linux Native Partition ( ext2 ) and a Linux Swap Partition.
