I am about to install a large HD (WD 100 gig) into a box that boots to SCSI and has several SCSI disks and one IDE, which is presently probably set to ONLY IDE drive.
I want NEITHER of the IDE drives to be a boot drive and will now se the smaller, presently installed, IDE drive to SLAVE and the large new IDE to MASTER.
I will continue to boot from the SCSI drive. The BIOS is 2001 and should accept 100 gig drives.
I am about to high level format the new large IDE drive, and include it, with as few partitions as possible into the system. I will save the existing partition setup with Norton Rescue, for security and insurance purposes.
Am I doing anything wrong that anyone can see ?
