nvm i guess intel has released a TRIM driver for SSD raid.

Are there any intel made drivers on there sight that i should go for SSD raid performance. I guess their ACHI drivers a way better then the ones in windows

boot raid-0 then have a portion of the disk raid-1 was my thought. backup the raid-0 to raid-1 - the older ich7 this didn't work out as when the raid-0 failed it failed all other partitions after that (!?wtf) this may be no longer the case but i'd check yourself.

Honestly screw it - boot raid-0 just backup on the interval that makes you feel safe.

They released a driver that lets drives other than drives in the array use trim. So if you have 2 drives in raid 0 and another drive not in that array the 3rd drive will have trim enabled.

Any drives in the array will not have trim enabled.

As already mentioned, the trim command will not be passed to the SSD drives in a RAID array. The Vertex 2 drives, however, have great garbage collection with the Sandforce controller so the loss of trim will not be as punishing. Do remember to log off of Windows periodically (computer still powered on) to let the garbage collection do its business. It is probably a good idea to do a clean wipe every 6 mos to a year since the garbage collection will not fully restore factory speeds.
