I have the same cooler with a Thermaltake blue led 120mm fan which i manage with a fan controller to spin @ 1500 (silent at this speed and more than enough)

You might want to consider the Tuniq Tower

I'll do some research. Seems pretty popular as a bunch of places don't have it in stock.
This is the hottest selling HSF today because its perfect for the C2Ds.
For the price, its really reasonable for what it does to cool your CPU.
They're available on eBay, if you don't mind paying more.

measure the socket-panel height before you buy any heatsinks.

an ultra 120 is 16cm tall, and a tuniq is 15.5cm. not all cases can fit them.

The 3 best are supposed to be the Ultra 120, Tuniq Tower 120 and The Scythe Infinity.

To me:

The Infinity is too heavy

The Ultra 120 is too expensive since it doesn't include a fan

So The Tuniq Tower 120 might just be the winner here. besides, the best overclockers in the world only use the tuniq tower 120 when using AIR Cooling!

So get the Tuniq Tower 120!

I'd suggest the Yale Loons. Nice and silent with decent airflow.

I got some of these fans and I planned on using one of them on my Ultra 120, but as every diagram I've seen says to put the wires in the screw holes...well, there are noscrew holes on the backside/inside.
Yate Loon 120mm fan

There are 4 holes, 1 in each corner that go thru a centerpiece, then the other 8 counter sunk holes are only on the outsides of the fan housing.

How can I make this work?

Any suggestions?😕

I used to think that the ultra-120 was just a hair behind the tuniq tower. Then there were reviews (I think it was the madshrimp heatsink roundup) and guy who did the tests told me that its very good for a mild oc, but when high temp loads begin to flow into it, its performance suffers.
