Hate to be the voice of doom but I couldn't find a single review of this monitor that provided proper testing in games. The reviews I did find were overly generalized and did not specify ghosting. All monitors ghost to some degree (very tiny to a LOT) so I would be a little hesitant in buying this without reading a proper review.
Behold, the mother of all L2335 threads.
After reading through most of that thread (the important posts) I now realize that choosing a widescreen LCD just became even more complicated.
It seems several LCDs are using the same panel inside (no surprise there) but it was interesting to see that Apple is using the same LG panel that HP is using in this monitor.
I think, at least for me, it comes down to styling. Although you pay through the nose for it.
Since my entire computer comes in machined aluminum (including keyboard and similar coloured sound system and mouse) it only makes sense I go with a similar monitor to complete the picture.
The other issue is that I don't think I can handle playing games at such a high resolution for long. While I do plan to eventually upgrade my computer (beyond what is in my sig) I cannot hope to keep it up year after year to get the best possible IQ on screen all the time.
I think the lower 1680 by 1050 resolution of the 20" Apple display will be what I will be shooting for.
Apparently all the Apple displays are 16ms but it remains to be seen how the 20" one handles games. Hopefully it is as good as the other LG panels used in the HP and Apple 23" displays.
We shall see.
