About to build PC with 7800. What drivers you guys using, cert or beta or........

or just what ?

I see quite a few fixes in the latest beta at nvidia but I know there are even more beta's out there.
So, what's everyone using here that has a GTX 256 ?
I am trying to download all drivers so I can install with the 'latest greatest' vs updating using a old CD ROM.
I don't think I have one isntaller CD with drivers worth a crap on them. Mouse to printers.....all gotta go but the video and my MB bios is all I really am worried about.
Btw, it's the asus a8n32 SLI MB and I am sure I need to flash it before I install windows.
I never did trrust that updater that you can install. Am I right to use a floppy and do it at boot and before the OS is installed ?

i go for an x1800xt now since its price about the same arround $450ish :! but i would use the latest nvidia dual core drive if you were getting dual core cpu. I did buy a comp last month :

Asus A8R-MV
Opetron 165 oc @ 2.7Ghz
1GB DDR VX GOLD OCZ
Gigabyte 3D AURORA
1x 250GB WD sata


with other comp that has 7800gtx i use 81.94 but i don't play much game on it much 🙁
 
MikalCarbine257 I just gave up and play my games on x1800xl... even the frames are as high as 7800GTX , i get better image quality at very playable frame rate : )

Um, is this true with a x1800xl? I thought those fell below even the 7800GT let alone the GTX. Are you referring to the XT?

And for the OP I am using XG 81.98 on my new system with a 7800GT. I have not played BF2 with the system yet but if I have any problems when I do try it rest assured I will report them here.

Just one of my 7800GT's could probably smoke his X1800XL, lol. BF2 runs fine with the XG 81.98's, as does CoD2 & FEAR.
 
I use the newest official Nvidia drivers. Unless they don't benefit me. I also use beta drivers, but only if they are found at Nzone.com. And if they benefit me.
 
vote for XG81.98, they work very well.

I am using the x2 amd 4400 and if they work better with a duel core it makes sense to get them!
Trying to get all my stuff in order for the transfer. 3 years of work/installs to migrate. I really don't look forward to it, lol
new pc is great but this is going to take days to get all my 'stuff' back as I like it
