why did they make eps 4,5,6 and now 1, 2, and eventually 3? I never really pay much attention to it. I thought that 4,5,6 was 1,2,3 and that 1 was star wars movie #4 until now that is.

EDIT(CLARIFICATION): Lucas made 3 movies, and now he is making 3 more that are set years before the first three to give you a backstory on the main characters and explain some things never told in the first 3.
