So I sold something on eBay, and I printed out the shipping label and stuck it onto my package. Now I was wondering if I have to go to the post office or if I can just leave it on my front porch for the mailman.

If I do end up having to go to the post office, do I have to bring ID, or can I just hand it to the postoffice workers / drop off area?

Thanks

If your mail person knows to pick up the package from your doorstep, then you can leave it there.

The printing of the label does not guarantee the postage is handled.
You need to ensure that postage is prepaid if you do not want to go to the PO.

You do not need ID, just the payment.

As long as you paid for the postage, just stick the prepaid label on the package and put it in a place that the mailman/woman will see it and know to pick it up.

To be sure, you could schedule a pickup through the usps website and this guarantees the pickup.
