? about power supplies

Can the shortage of power cause slow system performance? I notice some strange slowdowns and my pc refuses to boot sometimes

I have the following stuff:

2.8Ghz P4

2x 512 pc3200 ram

2x 7200 rpm hard drives

1x Cd rom and 1x Cd burner

Audigy 2

Ati 9800 Pro

Antec 350 watt PSU

Rails currently at:

+3.3 @ 3.30

+5.0 @ 4.97

+12.0 @ 11.85

PSU is fine IMO. have you run prime95/memtest?

I ran memtest last week and it found no problems

My system is slow for some reason

You didn't mention the motherboard your using, but I looked it up under your rigs, I use the same board & had a similar problem with a Enermax 350W PSU, my rig is pretty much identical except only 1xHD. The problem was the system wouldn't start half the time, or would get to the IDE detection screen & power down, I since replaced it with a TT 480W & no problems since.

I'm not 100% certain that was the issue though, I have all my fans under control with a fan controller including the NB, there's a possibility the system refused to start with the NB at a lower RPM, same applies to my CPU fan (CM Jet4). I never did actually have any issues when everything was running, so it could of been one of those things, but a better PSU can't hurt.

I like it, it's the PurePower W0021 Butterfly with fan controller, multi-colored lights look purrrty.
