about newegg orders

Yesterday, I ordered some stuff from newegg with fedex overnight shipping(5 item types in all). Today, I got only the case, and the whole order says it's still on step 5, but they haven't emailed me about the other 4 items. The print invoice shows 3 items(one being the case), but in the email, it said only the case had been pakaged and shipped. The other items haven't been packaged and shipped yet, at least to my knowledge. The Fedex tracking number also only indicated that case. Am I SOL about the other 4 parts or should I just not worry about them?

Don't worry about. Overnight shipping does not mean you'll get the stuff the day after you order. You'll get the day after Newegg ships.

I already got the case, but I'm worried that newegg might have forgotten the other stuff I wanted. What's the printed invoice supposed to mean? It had 3 items on it, and I only have the case, so should I just not care about the printed invoice? Does it mean anything?

I mean like when you click the "my account button" there are 5 options. Below the top option( to view order status) is Order History/Print Invoice. That's what is listing the 3 items. I'm worried about that particularly, but I'm also worried that newegg might have forgotten about the other stuff. Does newegg forget stuff that easily? And if I only got an email about the case shipping(which I already have) and no news whatsoever about the other stuff, and it's all listed on my order status as one column from CA, does that mean I am going to have to contact some of their staff or am I just being too jumpy?

If you ordered a case and other items, they usually dont pack up the case with the other items. They ship them seperatley. One package may have gone out before another. They usually just slap a shipping label on the box the case comes in, and ship it out like that. The other items usually have to be packed up together and shipped out. I wouldnt worry. If you really feel like you have to, give them a call.

So when you order a case, newegg will usually ship the case to you first and keep your other crap until the next business day or so and ship that to you?

Not necessarily. The case only needs to have a shipping label slapped on the box. The other items usually need to be collected together and thrown into one box before being shipped out.

So the only problem I'm having is nothing relating to newegg, but rather my impatience taking over me(I'm not a real patient guy), right? So newegg hasn't forgotten my other items and will eventually get to them, right? It's just that when a case is ordered, they have to ship it first then get your other stuff, and getting your other stuff takes a bit of time, also right?

I still haven't gotten an Email from them about my other 4 items.

They dont have to ship it first, it just usually does. Its much easier to just slap a label on a box then to take a bunch of items, pack em up, and send it out. Newegg didnt forget your items. They probably shipped them today, and you will get them on monday. Grab a :beer: and relax, your stuff will get there.

You ordered the stuff yesterday. Calm down, it will come. The case only comes first (or just in your case, no pun intended) because they only need a sticker on the box of the case to ship it. The other parts need to be put into another box and shipped, so that process inherently takes longer than just slapping a sticker on a box.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm now assured. I have a problem with worry if something isn't really quick. Man, do I need to learn patience. Probably will take a long time, though. (Me learning patience.)

They're the 2nd best website I have ever come across, second to AnandTech, of course. I stumbled on them on november of 2004 and have done 2 orders and have gotten good off of each order(I'm doing my 3rd one right now). Sure beats buying from a local store. Example: I went into a local store 2 years ago and a stick of 512mb was $125 and in November of 2004, I got a 256mb stick from one for $80. I'm sticking with newegg from now on. Sorry, it's just that I wanted to say my praises about newegg.
