About My NIC

My NIC always shows how many packets it sends or receives.
How can make it shows in bytes?
Anybody can help?

I've looked for an answer for a long time myself and haven't found one. I've come to the conclusion that you can't. For me some network cards display packets, some display bytes. I'd prefer they all display bytes, but don't know how..

I think it's up to the software.

Packet size can be set to a certain byte size and by knowing the byte size and # of packets you can figure your # of bytes sent.
