about Linux as server....

can someone tell me some keypoints on how to setup the linux server?

i just want linux to act as a router so that it can distrubute the DSL to my other computer running windows.

the easiest thing to do is get freesco. www.freesco.org

The thing to keep in mind while using Linux as a router is security. My friend and I wrote a script package that sets up IP Masquerading and secures everything; if you'd like to check it out, e-mail me. It's cake for someone to break into your system without proper security. Other than that, 've been doing it for about ayear with no problems.
