about less than a year ago I bought an ASUS MOBO K8nN-E Delux

ASUS MOBO K8nN-E Delux. At first was intermitently (2 weeks ago) failing to type out to the screen my typing. I switched keyboard and for a while it worked better then gave up, now sometimes when the computer is cold it will type a lil then stop. Often if I do a warm reboot I hear a Digital voice saying Keyboard not Connected.

I jiggled the wire in the keyboard slot on the MOBO and it just gets worse.

I could temorarily go to Costco and get a USB mouse and keyboard, but am not sure if it will work or not ( though Costco lets me return it if it is not working.)

Alternately I could RMA ASUS but that is a lot of time without a Morherboard, and lots of hours of Instalation, which I had done before.

Any Suggestions?

Possibly it is a virus. If it is it disables that hardware connection and I may be out of the dollars anyway if it disables the keyboard via USB too.

Here I am a babe in the woods I have no clues even. This is on and off like right now I can type, somehow after seveal reboots it works. But it has done that before

Well, if the KB worked to get you in, and around, the BIOS I guess it could be a virus. But if it doesn't work before the OS loads, I'd doubt it.

Check the PS2 port and the I/O backplate. Otherwise, sounds like the port is screwed up. Might give the USB route a try. Especially if you can return it if it doesn't work.

Good luck with it.
