About iTunes

There was some discussion in the Hot Deals forum about iTunes. Now to me it sounds like a great idea, a step in the right direction at least, but I'm wondering how cool it really is. See what I'd want in a site like that would be something that would let me preview each track before I decided to buy it, (we rent movies in this country, why not CDs?) which I'm assuming by logic they have. Now my question is what are the specifics of the previews? Are they just short clips of the tracks, or are they full-length but at crap quality? (i.e. 32kb/s 22kHz mono) If they have something good I may just be buying songs off of there for quite some time.
