btw just check out my green card has been expire for 1 1/2 years . So am I in big trouble? and how much fee will it cost

just renew it, I doubt you are in trouble.

why is that the greencard is expired you are still not a citizen?

I don't think you can directly apply for citizenship. Renewing late should not be a problem. Go check INS website.

I don't think it matters that your card expired. You should certainly renew it though, especially if you want to apply for citizenship.

I am currently in the process of filling out the form for citizenship, believe it takes 6 months and costs about $600 when you include fingerprint fees and passport fee.
