so my gf wants to come here as an international grad student, and as you guys told me before, since she is a foreigner, she will have trouble getting financial aid from school directly.

What about outside loans? from banks? from other places? loan sharks(joking)?

any experience in that?

then again, she might have trouble too, since she is a foreigner, but what if it is under my name?

I owe about 50K (undergrad + grad)

a college education is one of the best investments of time and money for an individual. Of course if you obtain an assistanceship or scholarship, then the price is much lower. I plan to get a job and pay back little by litte (adding more when i can) its a debt like any other, it needs to be paid back, but the money you make with a degree will relieve you of that burden over time.
