About free best buy gift cards with purchases...

Hey everyone, I'm gonna buy vice city for the pc on wednesday, and I plan to get a DVD with that free $10 gc. I am wondering if I could just pay for both at the same time and have the gift card applied or whether I have to pay for the game, get the card, run back, get the dvd, and then pay for that. Help appreciated.

Policy is that the gift card is not to be used against the original purchase, so you'll have a rough time convincing a cashier to do this for you. However I have done it once by accident.

Take both to the register, say you would like to do 2 transactions. Buy the game, then have the csr ring up the dvd after that.
