About DUAL channel

Which is better:
1) single 1GB chip in a single slot
2) 2x512MB in 2 slots operates in dual channel mode
3) 4x256MB in 4 slots each two of them works in dual channel mode

I would say 2 is the best for bandwidth and compatibility. 1 can be better if you try to upgrade to 2 x 1Gb in near future. 3 is rather stupid since you will block all of your memory slots. If you want to upgrade later, you will have to change ALL of them and lose value!!!

I know I'm off-topic but when it comes to 2GB, they say 2x1GB works better. 4x512MB would run slower (can't remember if it's because of 2T command rate or because you have to slow them down to 333 MHz)
