i read that if you buy from costco you can return stuff within sometime for a full replacement or change. i wanna buy a lcd but the whole stuck/dead pixel scares the hell out of me.

i ma looking at
ViewSonic 19" LCD
8ms 550:1 270 cd/m2
1280 x 1024 SXGA
http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.as...6313&whse=BC&topnav=&browse=&bp=&img=0

it has good reviews on newegg but their lcd return policy is 8 dead pixels right ?

is buying from costco rather than newegg a smart move (only for lcds) ?
and also what is your opinoin on this monitor.

I bought a Princeton 19in LCD last year..got it home and turned on ..it had 8 bad pixels..

I returned...they asked why?
I said bad Pixels
they said...huh?..defective...ok
gave me $300 back..cant credit your card

I love Costco..buy with zero concern

BTW if you buy online they even will refund the shipping cost on a return!!!!!

I bought a Uniden phone with BT for the house..pure piece of crap...returned everything I even got shipping back

Costco is the best place in the world for buying stuff. Just keep your receipt and you are good to go. Return for any reason even after the warrenty expires.

I asked the guy about it when I picked up a viewsonic va2012wb from them a few weeks ago. He says they'll just return it to viewsonic anyway. He muddied the waters a bit when he said that they'll take it back during its warrentee period, which is one of the reasons I chose the viewsonic (3 year versus other models 1 year) He advised me to keep the receipt, because otherwise they will only refund the current price they have instead of what I paid. Which is understandable.

I had the same concerns as you. They've come down in price enough to get me interested, but its still enough money I'm not willing to risk getting a product thats broken out of the box and have a company refuse to take it back because of some dead pixel policy. Costco cost $20-30 more then newegg at the time, but I consider that money well spent. I'm new to LCDs and would like to retain the option to return it without being hassled.
