I've been setting up a backup strategy for our server in the office for the past two days, and it's looking something like this.
Using Acronis True Image Server, an complete image of the system (C) drive is created every day and stored on an external hard drive. There's a backup job for every day of the week, so I can roll back as far as four days and recover the system.
Also, Acronis backs up the E drive where the User Shared Folders and important stuff is stored. It creates an incremental backup every day, plus a full drive image each friday.
SQL Server databases are backed up twice a day and stored in the exernal drive.
We have two identical external drives (250GB USB 2.0), one for mon-wed-fri and another one for tue-thu.
I'd like to know your comments about the setup, as I was eyeing the possibility of getting some NAS hardware and dump all the backups there, or maybe getting those REV drives from Iomega.
