Nice game, very arcade'y. Too bad you get the best weapons after you finish the game
Game was really nice though, thoroughly enjoyed it.
As for sequels... Give me FreeSpace 3... I mean the story started in the first one, continued in the second... By the end of the second part, when you saw what you were dealing with... I wish they would continue it

the day space sims come back into the limelight is going to be quite a while. Dare I say, another 10 years? Something needs to gimmick the mainstream into making more space sims, but as of now, is pretty much a dead in the water genre.

Never mind freelancer.
Starlancer was the real deal back in the day

Actually, Freelancer was designed with keyboard+mouse control in mind.

I guess I should have kept my mouth shut. I was trying to give my opinion as to why there are so few space fighter games out now, when they (along with plane/jet dogfighting games) were so popular in the 80's and 90's. There is a good chance that I am wrong though.
Freelancer is one of the newer games that I never played. From around 1998 to 2004, I barely played any games; but I remember that it was almost impossible to play Wing Commander or X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter without using a Joystick. I enjoyed both games, and would like to see a modern game like them.
