back in the mid early 90's Carl's Jr. had a limited run sandwich

it was sourdough based, with grilled onions and what felt like parmesan cheese

Anybody remember what I'm talking about and can remember the name of the burger?

I don't recall that one but the Santa Fe Green Chilli Cheese Burger was Carl's Jr.'s (how does one construct the possessive form of Carl's Jr.?) best ever.

Sorry OP but I stopped eating at Carl's Jr. back in 2001 when I had a burger in a SoCal location ... and I got sick. When I had recovered I asked myself why I had so little respect for myself to eat at such a place.

I came to my senses at that point and avoided the place from then on.

Enjoy your sandwich ...

I came in here thinking the OP just crapped out a burger he ate in the mid 90's. What a relief. Your butt probably would have whistled some Ace of Base as it came out.

The Frisco Breakfast Melt was a Hardees offering in the 90s. One of the reasons I was a fatty. They were that good.

I used to go into Carl's Jr. around 2000 and order a Spicy Chicken Sandwich or two, Criss-Cut Fries and a Chocolate Shake. I'd take it back to my desk for lunch. I gave it up eventually, it's pretty fattening fare. I loved that place, though, my favorite fast food joint.

Sounds like the hardes frisco melt. My brother used to work at one in the mid 90's and I used to get that all the time for free.
