I have a gateway p166mmx , I would like to upgrade the MB and processor while keeping the other components like memory and HD. Its an atx size. Since its a 66 bus system am I restricted to a specific type of motherboard in order to be able to reuse other components? Is my only alternative to get a 66 hz board and a pii 333?

If I seem lost I am. Only have a slight clue of what I need to do here. Is this possible.Any help really appreciated. RC

Why don't you consider one of the new celeron II's? They run at 66mhz and you could re-use your ram provided it's a 168pin dimm. The celerons offer the one of the best price perfomance ratios around. Get a mainboard that fits you pricerange and you should be all set. BTW - You may actually have a hard time finding a P2 333 as they have been out of production for some time now. As time goes on you could upgrade the other componants as needed. Good Luck - Mike
