About 7800GTX 256mb and 512mb

Hmm, I recently ordered the eVGA 7800GTX KO and mainly because of the Step-Up program that evga just announced.. my expectations were that I use the step-up in orderto change to 512mb within 3 months. Now I live in Israel, I bought the card from a shop that has the eVGA products.. now I just saw in eVGA's site that the Step-Up is only for america and canada now first of all is there any option to still use the Step-Up? for example ill just send the card to the shop i bought it from and pay them the differences after that they will send the card to eVGA and they will actually pay the the difference? then eVGA will send the new card to the shop and then they'll send it back to me? And to the other question do u think ill need to uprade will i notice a big difference that justifies upgrading?

I doubt it...but honestly do you wanna go thru this whole hassle? The 7800GTX will last you a long while, you wont need to upgrade.

If you want to have the best card possible at all times, be prepared to pay through the nose for it repeatedly. Otherwise the 7800 GTX is a great card that will keep you happy for a good long while. By that point in time, there will be better cards to be had than a 7800 GTX 512mb, and that card will be much cheaper than it would be in 2005.

Wait for the reviews first. We don't even know if the 7800 GTX 512MB will be as fast as the 256MB version. After all, the memory could be slower or have higher latency.

why would they release a slower but more expensive gtx?!
it doesn't make sense at all
