Able do unfocus eyes?

I've been able to do something ever since I was very young but have never thought it was unsual up until a few years ago. I am able to unfocus my eyes at will and make things extremely blurry. I can keep it like that that for as long as I want until I decide to go back to my regular vision. I know sometimes when you just blankly stare at something you lose focus, but this isn't like that. I don't need to cross my eyes, move my eyelids/eybrows, have any facial expression at all. Is this a common occurance?

I can do it on command instantly. I fly through those 3D books very quickly, it's like reading a picture book.

My eyes are unfocused in their default state. I have to concentrate to focus, and it's hard work.

People who do magic eye things by crossing their eyes are doing it wrong. You're supposed to relax them and look "through" the picture. If you can't do this, then you can't unfocus your eyes.
