Abiword mouse scroll does not work

I'm suffering from this bug:

Basically only way it works is if I place the cursor exactly on the scroll bar, at that point it kinda defeats the purpose, may as well just use the scroll bar. I'm running 2.9.2 as in that post. That was in May, is there perhaps another workaround for this bug? I ran the updater for my Os (xubuntu) and that is still the version I have.

Looks like you need to install a different version of Abiword. You could also use LibreOffice as a replacement.

Oh did not even realize it was not part of Libre Office. Now that you mention it I have Libre Office writer too so that's probably the one I should be using. I'll have to set that as the default app.
