ABIT X800 XT PE in stock on 12/16 Newegg

If you read the topic further you will notice the ABIT X800 XT PE that was on Newegg on the 16th and possibly today (12/21) is NOT a PE but just a normal XT. Newegg and ABIT had the wrong information on their websites which they have updated since.

I did the notify on this card and ordered as soon as the email arrived.

Anyone who has been searching for this card would be able to believe it. I'm not even hunting down this overrated card, but I can believe it.

When you say "overrated", do you mean this Abit card or X800XT pe's in general? I wasn't able to find any reviews on the Abit, but I've always had good luck with Abit products.

Wow. I still could believe people getting in line to fork ~$500 for a video card. I thought the days for a dual voodoo 2 are long gone.

You people need to wake up and realize that R&D for GPU's is more frequent than CPU's and they are just as complex if not more. Therefore the top end costing $500+ is to be expected, afterall people are paying ludicrous prices for FX-55 chips aren't they?

I don't think the fx-55 are "ludicrous" prices if you want the best you have to pay for the best. IMO they are a much better deal then the intel 3.4 EE.

I hate to be the person with bad news but that is not the X800 XT PE one but just the X800XT. If you look closely the box says series in the big print and in the smal square box if you look really close it just says it is a X800 XT nothing about the PE. In the description if it the only thing that say X800 XT PE is where it says the core and mine is a X800pro and it has the same core just that its under clocked. I hope i am wrong but I think the picture is miss leading and thought I would mention it before alot of people get mad when it shows and it turns out not to be the one they though. Need to look deaper on this one to be sure.

Yeah thats where I am confusid. the speeds are suposedly right but no where on the box dos it say PE at the end. You would think that if you are a large company you would advertise on the box that it is a PE but no where is it that. Unless they are taking the XT's ove bios overclocking them like some people are already doing but because they did that they cant leagally advertise it as a true PE version. And not only that if it were a true PE then that price id off by atleast $100 from all the other true PE versions and is cheaper then alot of the XT versions as well. Seems kinda strange a company would do that unless they are misleading some customers at which they can throw "not responsable for advertising error" to get away with it.

Even Abit website is mis leading.
It clearly says that same card has 520 core speeds but in the description it shows it to have a 500 gpu core. Which are you really lead to believe and again no where on there does it mention PE. I would think that if you had a true X800 XT PE card you would slap it all over the box since they are very expensive and hard to come by.

Heck my X800 Pro hits 520/550 which passes the PE speeds but I cant advertise it as such and neither are they. They are just using series and sppeds on there because that is what a true PE can do but they just cant name it a true PE so they tricking the minds of people into thinking it is just a goof up in the box art I am guessing. But dont get me wrong if it is just a XT that is a hell of a price and could be moded to a PE with a bios change. I just hate to see people thinking that it was a true PE and not be the case.
Again I hope I am wrong.

And another update. If you click on the Zip Zoom Fly Link HERE and click on Manufacturer Product Specifications it takes you to yet the card again at Abits website with the same card as I linked above but this time it says core speed 520. Clearly they are misleading the consumers. Also google a Abit RX800 XT PE and most of what is found is in german or french but if you googgle a Abit RX800 XT all kinds of info comes up.

I dont think I even clicked on the pictures for the box the other day. I did notice one thing though, when I posted the other day Newegg's production description listed the ABIT as a PE but now its just x800 XT. I'm almost positive about that if anyone else can confirm. Also, if you scroll down to detailed specs the chip/clock speed is listed as ATI RADEON X800 XT PE/ 520MHz. Very strange.

Im not one to go off what is on the box. I don't think Asus puts the PE on their x800xtpe anyways, so I am not going to jump on ABIT for that. What really bothers me is that THEIR website has conflicting information, and makes me wonder what they are really trying to sell here. They have a PCIE version of the X800XTPE (it is labled PE on the abit website) and those specs seem to be inline. However the AGP one is of course messed up. I sent off an e-mail to ABIT last night and hopefully they will respond, I might consider calling them sometime this week to clear it up. It is a problem on their website and perhaps a serious miscommunication with the retailers.

I posted this problem on the abit forums one of the members called tech support and:

I called tech support on this. They confirmed the 500 speed. They took my number, said they would call back in 10 minutes. I see they changed the clock number on the webpage (glad I saved a copy), and I've heard nothing from them since.

It is an X800XT, non PE.

Wow. Did anyone else save the webpage before they changed the specs on the website. Obviously both ABIT and Newegg screwed up. Hopefully everyone that ordered one can get their money back. $478 is not a bad price for a X800 XT but Newegg was clearly advertising the card as a PE on the 16th.

Sorry for starting something guys I just knew that wasnt a PE and would of hate to seen alot of people buying it thinking they were getting a full on XT PE for a super steal. I almost went with it before I did some digging around and thats when I had to stop myself and others and make sure it was what it was suoppoded to be. And yes that is still a really nice price on a X800XT and I am sure it will be easy to mod it to a XTPE no problems. Seems as though there is a good report on the pro's and xt's with VIVO taking a xtpe bios.

I have both ABIT and Neweggs webpages saved prior to the switch, note that newegg has now listed it as 500MHz.

funboy, its good that you brought this up. I was digging for information when you brought it up as well, if you hadn't said anything I would have pointed it out. I think a simple overclock would get it to PE speeds you only need a little increase, think it would be easy.

A guy I know is in talks with ABIT and they are supposed to contact him, not sure what they are going to say yet but I'll throw that info up when I get it.
