Abit WI-1P serial ports

I have the Abit WI-1P motherboard. It's a great socket 478 mobo. I decided to stick with socket 478 due to my SCSI drives, PCI-Express doesn't have any SCSI cards that I could find. PCI-X SCSI cards are reasonably priced finally.

I doubt few have this mobo, but if you do, have you used any serial port devices?

I ask because everything works great after the transplant and massive reinstall 🙂, except that a serial device I used to use on my old Asus mobo worked fine, and that same program locks up eventually on the Abit.

I have no other problems. When I called their tech support, they told me to try different IRQ settings in the BIOS. This didn't seem to do anything.

So now I'm wondering, if it's the program or the mobo. I'll have to find some other serial devices and give them a try.

Thanks.
