Doees the VH6-2 support the Tualatin pentium 3's? My 800mhz is starting to chug a little bit, but my funds don't quite cover the cost of an upgrade to a pentium 4, what with upgrading the motherboard and ram - which is why I'm looking into upping to a Tualatin.

the VH6-2 isn't a slot1, it's a socket motherboard. The issue is with voltage, I believe, whether the motherboard can supply enough to the cpu or not. not whether it will fit in. I haven't been able to find anything on any spec page about whether my motherboard supports the tualatin, so I guess I can only assume thati t doesn't. :/

No. Only Coppermine support.... check Abit's webpage below.

ABIT VH6-2

The "socket-adapter" listed below should increase your performance greatly by allowing the Tualatin processors (go for a Celeron 1.3 or so if you want to save money).

But think about your budget--if you just need a motherboard and a CPU, the ECS Athlon motherboards are cheap (And they SHOULD support SDRAM as well), and you can pick up a Athlon XP1600+ for relatively inexpensive. A bit of price-checking may surprise you (the Tualatins... especially the P3s didn't sink in price as fast as one would think...)

Either way you go, you should see a boost in performance. Good luck!
