I have an Abit-KT7Raid and I was wondering how accurate the temperatures were through the provided hardware moniter?
I have heard that the type of sensor that is on the KT7-Raid is not very accurate.
Anyone know?

Get Motherboard Monitor 5, and use it. The one it comes with is weak.

Also its much more accurate if you bend the little sensor under the socket up a bit so it just touchs the bottom of the processor.

It isn't accurate... It can sometimes "approximate" cpu temp well.

The type of sensor on hte kt7a and other socket-a mb's is typically the socket-thermistor, and while measures can be taken to improve "accuracy" problems still exist.

Warcon,

no, it is not "much more accurate"... it is slightly warmer readings, but should not be confused for accuracy, since it is still highly inaccurate.

Your right Mikewarrior, it just reads a slightly better approximation. Without a built-in core thermistor then you really can't get accurate, just something to use as a guide for myself. Like I know my system destabilizes at ~50-53C according to the readings from the socket thermistor under the heatsink, but not necessarily the "actual" temperature. It really could be much higher in the core.

Sorry for my impudence!!! :D
